Consumer Rights Solicitors only uses data provided through advertising partners to respond to enquiries.

Motor Finance Claims – FCA & Supreme Court Guidance
Following the UK Supreme Court ruling on 1 August 2025, lenders cannot be held responsible for commission arrangements on fixed-fee car finance agreements. However, the Court ruled in favour of claims involving discretionary commission arrangements (DCA).
On 3 August 2025, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) confirmed it will consult on an industry-wide redress scheme for affected customers. Based on current evidence, most successful claims are expected to result in compensation of £950 or less, figures are based on FCA guidance as of August 2025 and may change. Compensation is not guaranteed.
It is important you are aware of your rights:
- You do not need to use a solicitor or claims management company to make a claim. You can complain directly to your lender or dealership free of charge, and if unsuccessful, escalate your complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS).
- If you choose to instruct Consumer Rights Solicitors, our fees are up to 36% of any compensation recovered, including VAT.
- In line with FCA guidance relating to advertising in motor finance claims, we are updating our sign-up and advertising processes. New customer sign-ups may be temporarily paused while these updates take place, but this will not affect existing clients whose claims continue as normal.
We process personal data relating to these claims only in compliance with our regulatory obligations under the SRA and FCA.
P.S. Further details of our fees and services can be found on our Costs Explained page.
Enquiry data not resulting in a client relationship will be retained for no longer than 18 months. We may retain data longer where required by law, regulation, or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
